Actually Statetris would have helped in college. I had a professor my freshman year who loved to test us on maps. He long ago retired, so Dr. Heizer, this is for you.

Only 2 clicks–Now, I’m impressed

Yesterday when I logged in to Only2Clicks.com, I said it was VERY beta. Today, I went there on a lark. All was fixed.

Now, I’m impressed and can recommend them as a great start page.

iPhone picI saw one tonight. I held it, touched it and played with it. The iPhone is scarily like what Steve Jobs showed at Macworld in January.

Having seen the keynote back then, I interacted with it the way Steve did. The flick worked. Stretching worked. All in all, it just worked. It was smaller than I thought and fit in my hand better. Typing was a little inaccurate, but about the same as using my regular handset with the benefit of hitting erase if I miss a letter and retyping instead of “erase j k l 5” (I wanted k) “j k”.

Keep in mind that I only played with it for 5 minutes, but having watched a youtube video on it, I was delighted. In some ways, it worked better than my iBook, but the laptop is 6 years old. In others, it didn’t.

QuestCommunity.com didn’t load well at all with all the flash we use in it. Flash heavy sites are useless on the iPhone. I didn’t get a chance to view this site from it (again, only 5 minutes), but I expect it would have looked fine.

Now, I didn’t surf from “The Edge” data network. We were at church where we have wi-fi, so was plentiful and free, but most places I am it’s that way. Now, I just need to wait for them to come down in price so I can get one.

I found Only2Clicks and got excited. I could have “speed dials” for my favorite sites that I could access across the web. I signed up.

Now, I’m having all sorts of problems (like others from the discussion on their blog). I’m hoping they fix it soon. I really like the idea of clearing my bookmark bar and having it available from all over.

Update: Twenty-four hours later all is fixed. Have fun.
